These programs aim to provide comprehensive education and multidisciplinary excellence to prepare the excellent workforce for the best fit in the ever-evolving growth industry.

Diploma Programme in Virtual Reality:

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, announced to launch of an advanced diploma specialization course in Virtual Reality. Whoever holds an engineering degree from a recognized institute can enroll in it. This course is offered both in online and offline mode.

The Centre of Excellence organizes the Virtual Reality and Haptics course at IIT Madras, part of the government of India’s Institute of Eminence project.

Launching the specialization course in IIT Madras aims to meet the growing need for virtual reality and provide skilled resources to various associated industries, including IT, animation, architecture, engineering, healthcare, and media creation.

The standard eligibility criteria for pursuing a Master’s in Virtual Reality is holding an Engineering graduation degree or science graduation from a recognized university. Though, the individual courses on AR VR can be done after 12th science from a separate technological university.

Diploma Program in Data Science:

Data Science involves deciphering large volumes of data and gaining deeper insights. Organizations and businesses of all sizes depend upon qualitatively analyzing large data sets. Data Scientists are in huge demand in healthcare, finance, and government organization for precise decision-making and real-time problem-solving skills. They can be a data scientist, business data analyst, data mining engineer, or data architect who precisely examines data and anticipate market and business trends.

IIT Madras introduced two online Data Science degree programs, i.e., a BS degree in Data Science & Applications and Diploma in Data Science. The JEE Advanced qualifier can apply for an online BS degree program in Data Science. But before that, they must complete 4 weeks of foundational courses, in-person quizzes, and exams. It offers UG diploma courses in both online and offline modes. So, anyone who is either a college student or a working professional can take the course at an affordable time and advance in their career.

IIT Hyderabad offers 10 months diploma course in comprehensive learning of Data Science for graduates and professionals.

Data Science can be learned as a stand-alone program with various specialization courses such as Machine Learning, Python, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Big Data.

The eligibility criteria for a Postgraduate diploma specialization in Data Science is having a bachelor’s (four years or equivalent) or a Master’s in Science/Engineering/Management. It provides specialized training in data science and analytics so you can learn cutting-edge skills in software engineering and build scalable software systems for Data Science & AI applications. For an undergraduate course, the total score should be more than 50% in 12th science.

Although science is not mandatory for pursuing Data Science in UG course, basic knowledge of Statistics, Mathematics, and Programming is expected with a score of 50-60% marks in 12th. Engineering or science graduates should have an aggregate of 50-70% marks for their Master’s. Data Science course qualification includes a BE/BTech/MCA/MSc degree.

Advanced Course in Machine Learning and Data Science:

Machine Learning is becoming popular because it reduces human intervention and uses Artificial Intelligence to enable machines to increase performance.

IIT M provides an advanced certification diploma in Machine learning and Data Science and intends to develop the core skill required in the fields of Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.

The advanced Machine learning and Data Science course is a 12-month PG-level advanced IIT certification program that equips learners with in-demand skills and expertise. With increasing developments in AI, IoT, and other intelligent technologies, machine learning jobs are gaining higher exposure and demand in the technology market.

There are a variety of career paths available in Machine Learning and Data Science, such as data scientist, research scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, NLP Scientist, etc.

For a B.Tech admission in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, students should have clear JEE Main and JEE Advanced with 60% in 12th science.

Biotechnology and Bioinformatics:

The eligibility criteria for pursuing an IIT certificate for a Biotechnology specialization course is holding a bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science, Engineering, or Technology, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or 5.5 out of 10 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or equivalent).

The IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Hyderabad recently launched an industry-oriented BTech program in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.

The MSc in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics will provide students with in-depth training in crucial life sciences, which can give promising careers in innovation and research programs.

Diploma in Computational Engineering:

Computational engineering uses computers and electrical knowledge to design various engineering applications. IIT Hyderabad has recently launched a B.Tech diploma course in Computational engineering. It is a four-year interdisciplinary undergraduate program equally divided into eight semesters of six months each.
